Small
town farm girl follows her dream.
Dawn Ashley Cook
was born in a small farming community in Ohio. Her interest in the
arts began at an early age as she enrolled in ballet, jazz, tap,
and gymnastics classes while participating in local theater
productions. In high school, Dawn was inducted as a member of the
National Honor Society, was featured as Who’s Who Among American
High School Students, and was involved in numerous extracurricular
activities from volunteer organizations to cheerleading.
Dawn’s passion
for dance earned her acceptance into Ohio University School of Dance
where she graduated with honors while obtaining a BFA. Receiving
numerous scholarships, Dawn appeared on the Dean’s List all four
years and was now featured in Who’s Who Among American College
Students. While at OU, Dawn worked with a wide variety of teachers
and choreographers that helped shape the professional dancer that
she is today. Dawn’s unique choreographic styles were first
developed during this time, and she has toured nationally and
internationally as a featured performer, soloist, and choreographer.
Upon graduation, Dawn
moved to Los Angeles and has found success in film, television, and
stage. You have seen Dawn on Bewitched, Desperate Housewives, and
Cedric the Entertainer to name a few. She has also performed with a
professional modern dance company, was cast in the Los Angeles
Opera’s production of I Pagliacci, and has had numerous
appearances at the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. Finding
balance is important to this multi-talented performer as she finds
time to volunteer in the public school system to promote literacy as
well as fundraising for the Los Angeles Homeless Services. Dawn
Ashley Cook currently resides and performs in Los Angeles,
California. |
